The Quadro FX 3800 with Elemental Accelerator for CS4

Jeff Pulera of Safe Harbor features the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800 with Elemental Accelerator in a recent product spotlight blog post. Jeff performed extensive benchmarking using Elemental Accelerator with the Quadro FX 3800 card, testing both H.264 and MPEG-2 encoding performance as well as scaling video for a variety of target applications and devices, including Blu-ray, DVD, YouTube and iPod. In most cases, Elemental Accelerator performed video encoding faster than real time and in all cases, Elemental Accelerator outperformed the standard CPU-only encoder. Elemental Accelerator gets high marks from CG Channel

In his review of the Quadro CX for CG Channel, Jason Lewis calls out the benefits of Elemental Accelerator and notes it is the feature that makes the card really shine. He highly recommends it for video professionals for whom time is money and super-fast encoding speeds are essential. Check out his article here. Following are some of the highlights!

“To the high-end professional who depends on fast and stable hardware to get the job done, this card is definitely worth every penny.”

“In the newest version of Premiere, there is only one feature that is accelerated with the Quadro CX card, but it is in that feature that the CX card really shines. High Definition video encoding (H.264) is what this card is really meant to do, and this feature is only accelerated with the Quadro CX.”

“This plugin basically offloads all the encoding calculations done when exporting H.264 HD media to the video cards GPU and is then exported a lot faster than encoding with the system CPU.”

Elemental Accelerator: More Positive Reviews!

Elemental Accelerator continues to garner positive reviews. The latest comes from High Definition for PC with its first in a series of articles focused on the Nvidia Quadro CX and Adobe Creative Suite 4. The author notes:

"The one totally new aspect that the Quadro CX brings to the table is accelerated encoding, specifically encoding to H.264 with the new Accelerator encoder from Elemental Technologies.  This is the primary marketing piece specific to the CX card, and my third and final post in this series on the Quadro CX will be about CUDA and its implementation in this new encoder."

Digital Content Producer test drives the Nvidia Quadro CX with CS4 and Accelerator

This detailed review of the Nvidia Quadro CX from Digital Content Producer takes a close look at accelerated encoding with RapiHD and supplies a wide range of encoding test results. Included among the positive comments from the reviewer:

"I compared the quality of the Elemental Accelerator and MainConcept 720p files and found them very similar—a good result for Accelerator since Premiere Pro's Main Concept encoder is a very high-quality producer."
