Graphic and Web Designer

The mission of this job is to help Elemental perfect the media experience by maintaining and improving Elemental’s Web and print media efficiently and with superior quality, and collaborating effectively as a trusted member of a driven, innovative team.

As a Graphic and Web Designer you will:
  • Unify company branding and identity across all media
  • Design and maintain web and print graphics for projects large and small
  • Take direction from the marketing and application development teams
  • Update Website assets using Drupal
  • Manage outside vendors such as printers and Web developers
  • Create and maintain video and audio assets
The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
  • 2-5 years graphic design experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design
  • Fluency with Adobe CS5 – InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator

Software Cloud Engineer III

The mission of this job is to help Elemental perfect the media experience by building cloud video processing technology on a fast-track schedule, and to collaborate effectively as a trusted member of a driven, innovative team.

As a software cloud engineer III, you will:
  • Own the process of taking new technology through the entire development cycle - from inception, through QA, to delivery and approval by the customer
  • Provide highly responsive technical assistance to the customer support team, translating customer requests into functional code

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience

Software Design Engineer in Test

The mission of this job is to help Elemental perfect the media experience by creating a robust set of automated test cases that will increase the coverage and efficiency of our releases. We are looking for a great tester and developer whose goal is to create solid, reliable, customer-focused software that defines its genre. In this role, you will be working closely with your Test Lead to create automated test procedures that efficiently and effectively test our products.

As a Software Design Engineer in Test, you will:
  • Identify and implement automated tests that will improve efficiency of testing, after test passes are complete
  • Maintain API level tests and tools that will efficiently test our products and core technology
  • Develop and document automated test strategies, plans, and scripts based on requirements analysis and specifications derived from our Software Test Engineers and Developers
The successful implementation of this job requires, at a minimum:
  • Strong testing skills and knowledge of testing methodology
  • 5 Years of experience writing, implementing and maintaining suites of automated tests
  • 5 years of experience testing Linux-based products. (Centos/RedHat preferred)
  • Strong coding skills in one or more object oriented languages; C++, Java , C#, Perl, Ruby, Bash
  • Strong networking skills in a Linux environment
  • At least a 4-year college degree with BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Additional strengths include experience with:

Software Test Engineer

Elemental Technologies is looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to define, implement, and improve testing methodologies, infrastructure, and processes. We are looking for a great tester whose goal is to create solid, reliable, customer focused software that defines its genre. In this role you will be working closely with Development, Test and Program Management to build test procedures that efficiently and effectively test our flagship products, Elemental Live and Elemental Server.

As a software test engineer, you will:
  • Executes tests, monitors their outcomes and reports defects as they are found.
  • Install daily builds on hardware so that they are ready to perform tests in line with requirements explained by the Test Lead
  • Review output videos from our products for visual quality issues and lip sync.
  • Provide assistance as needed and directed by the Test Lead.
The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
  • At least 1 year of experience shipping commercial quality software with frequent release cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to run tests based on lightly specified tests.
  • Experience testing video and audio software.
  • Great communication skills, attention to detail and a history of solving complex technical problems.
  • Knowledge of video compression software andmodern codecs a huge plus. (H264, MPEG2)
  • Ability to manage your own time to meet short term targets.
Systems Engineer

The mission of this job is to provide superior pre- and post-sales support for our enterprise customers, while collaborating effectively as a trusted member of a driven, innovative team. This position is based in our Portland headquarters.

As a systems engineer you will:
  • Integrate our products into customer workflows
  • Train customers and integrators to use our products
  • Act as the primary technical interface for customer evaluations and provide responsive and knowledgeable pre-sales support
  • Resolve customer questions and issues
  • Communicate customer feedback to Product Management (feature requests, market trends, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Software Engineering team to verify technical requirements for customer-requested features and defect fixes
The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
  • BS in computer science, electrical engineering or other related field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of compressed and uncompressed digital video and audio standards, especially around H.264 and MPEG-2 technologies
  • 5 years of experience with Linux operating systems
  • Domestic travel, up to 50%
  • 3-5 years of experience writing scripts (Perl, Ruby, Bash, Batch)

Video Processing Software Engineer

This position requires a software engineer who is creative, self-motivated and enjoys solving challenging problems. If you are an expert in video processing on parallel processors and possess an interest in developing extremely high-performance, professional applications, we want to talk to you.

As a video processing software engineer, you will:
  • Design, implement and test high-performance video compression and pixel processing algorithms
  • Understand and utilize the full processing power of top-end GPU and CPU hardware
  • Support the Elemental product development team in implementing customer requirements
The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
  • At least 2-3 years of professional work experience
  • Extensive parallel processing experience on GPUs or multi-core CPUs
  • Fluent in C/C++ in Windows or Linux development environments

Video Test Engineer

The mission of this job is to define, implement and improve testing methodologies, infrastructure and processes. We seek a superstar tester whose goal is to create solid, reliable, customer-focused software that defines its genre.  In this role, you will work closely with development, test and program management to build procedures that efficiently and effectively test our flagship products, Elemental Live and Elemental Server.

As a video test engineer, you will:
  • Design and develop test plans, and perform repeatable testing procedures and processes
  • Work with customer support and development to identify and understand our external customers and integrate their “stories” into our test procedures 
  • Become the expert in your assigned testing areas and document that knowledge in effective test cases
The successful implementation of this position requires, at a minimum:
  • At least 2+ years of experience shipping commercial quality software with frequent release cycles
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and instill processes and practices for regular qualitative and quantitative measurements of audio and video streams
  • Experience testing video and audio software
  • Familiar with at least one major scripting language (Perl, Bash, Ruby, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding and skill for performance and reliability testing
