Elemental Accelerator version 2.2 will run with multiple supported GPUs. You can find supported multi-GPU configurations here.

In general, the tool picks the first valid CUDA GPU that has a desktop enabled in the system. SLI disabled:

A. I have a non-CUDA GPU on the motherboard and 1 plugin CUDA GPU, and only the CUDA GPU is being used as the desktop.

  1. It will use the CUDA GPU in this case.

B. I have a non-CUDA GPU on the motherboard and 1 plugin CUDA GPU, and both have desktops enabled.

  1. In this case, it should find the proper CUDA device in the system.

C. I have 2 plugin GPUs with only one desktop enabled--not in SLI mode--what will it do?

  1. It will pick the first CUDA capable GPU it finds and use it. If you want to force it to use a different GPU, then you should make it the primary GPU in the system through the standard windows desktop configuration.

SLI enabled: A. I have 2 plugin GPUs in SLI mode (or 1 onboard NVIDIA GPU and 1 plugin GPU in hybrid SLI)--should it go faster?

  1. The tool will not take advantage of SLI (or Hybrid SLI) yet, but will still be fast!

B. I have 2 plugin GPUs with only one desktop configured in SLI mode--what will it do?

  1. It will pick the first CUDA capable GPU it finds and use it. If you want to force it to use a different GPU, then you should make it the primary GPU in the system through the standard windows desktop configuration.
