In extensive benchmark testing conducted by an independent video compression expert, Elemental solutions excelled in speed, throughput and quality. According to the 2011 Q1 Best Workflows Report, Elemental Server was the fastest system tested when it came to heavy-duty transcoding of simultaneous Web and mobile files. In addition, the quality of the output files produced by Elemental Server rank high in both PSNR and subjective quality testing. Elemental Live was the most robust system tested, with a proven density advantage compared to competitive solutions.

It should be noted that while 8 vendors were invited to participate, none of those that accepted the invitation would allow their results to be published except for Elemental. A few months after the completion of this report, Elemental released its unified video management system, Elemental Conductor. This solution helps Elemental close the redundancy and failover gaps noted in the report.
